Participation: The project involved 260 citizens, notably 70 participants from the city of Cherechiu (Romania),
notably 30 participants from the city of Dlha Ves (Slovakia), notably 40 participants from the city of Kereki (Hungary), notably 60 participants from the city of Kokad (Hungary), notably 60 participants from the city of Újfehértó (Hungary)

Short description:
Cherechiu Municipality organizes a town twinning meeting between the 24th, 25th and 26th of July, 2015. Participating twinned towns: Municipality of Cherechiu from Romania and Municipalities of Kokad, Kereki, Ujfeherto from Hungary, and DLHA VES from Slovakia a total of 260 participants, 190 international guests. The event aims at bringing back togheter the citizens from the twined towns of Kokad, Kereki from Hungary and DLHA VES from Slovakia.
In this event will take place the official twinning of Cherechiu with Ujfeherto from Hungary .
The project contributes to general and specific objectives of the program . Each day has a specific and unique theme, which includes the main objectives that are to be achieved: " EU history and effects", "My actions for Europe" and “Together for Europe future" In these days people will get to know the EU better by becoming more and more aware of the values, rights and opportunities the EU has created for each country. The event encourage reflection on historical memory, understanding of the Union and diversity. Also encourage participants to foster European citizenship and to improve conditions for civic and democratic participation at Union level. The purpose of this event is to stimulating debate, reflection,volunteering and development of networks and encourage democratic and civic participation of citizens at Union level.
They will also be actively involved in the development and implementation of EU policies at the local level, will be encouraged to come up with new and exciting ideas on how to improve social cohesion and stimulate citizens to new forms of civic participation, also through voluntary actions encourage participants to involve to the future of Europe.
